Agricultural Equipment Wire Harnesses: IP67, Vibration & Chemical Resistance

A tractor harness sees more abuse in a season than a car harness sees in a decade — mud, diesel, UV, and 12-hour vibration days. The design rules are different. Specify IP67 minimum at every connector, with silicone or fluorocarbon seals that survive diesel and hydraulic oil. Use cross-linked insulation rated to 105 °C for under-hood runs, and protect every exposed branch with corrugated conduit rated for UV. Vibration is the killer: every connector needs a positive lock (CPA) and every branch needs strain relief, because a combine doesn’t stop because a contact backed out. Specify over-molded grommets at every sheet-metal pass-through. Get these right and the harness outlasts the warranty.
